The charitable foundation HELP UKRAINE has joined the international UK-Ukraine project Sustainable ThermoSolutions-an initiative that combines innovation, sustainability, and real humanitarian impact.
The project is implemented with the support of the Innovate Ukraine program (Innovate UK) and was launched in December 2025. Its goal is to create efficient and affordable energy solutions for Ukraine, especially in the context of infrastructure recovery and energy instability.
At the core of the project is the Simple Heat technology. This is an innovative system that converts waste into energy and ensures its storage for future use. The system:
• processes household and construction waste,
• generates energy through pyro-gasification,
• stores heat in highly efficient accumulators.
A key element is advanced Si/SiC nanocomposite materials, which enable operation at temperatures up to 1000°C.
Simple Heat is not just a technology, but a solution to real-world problems. It provides stable heating, reduces dependence on traditional energy resources, and enables efficient waste utilization. The system operates without harmful emissions and uses hydrogen or syngas as an energy source. Importantly, this solution is designed for low-income households, internally displaced persons, hospitals, and other critical facilities.
The project integrates already proven technologies, namely gasification, nanomaterials, and heat storage systems. Together, they form a modular platform that can be quickly scaled and implemented not only in Ukraine but also in Eastern European countries.
Sustainable ThermoSolutions is the result of collaboration between leading organizations from the United Kingdom and Ukraine. The consortium includes: ECO RESEARCH LTD (Lead), Eco+Logic LLC, PULSAR LLC, POWERTECH ENERGY LTD, Scientific Research Group “FOTON-SK” LLC, and research institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
The HELP UKRAINE charitable foundation plays a key practical role in the project, being responsible for logistics coordination, site preparation, and on-the-ground implementation of the technology. Its main task is to ensure that these solutions actually reach those who need them most.
